9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB

9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB

 Each year on the last Saturday in June, Black Hawk Founders’ Day celebrates the history, people, and pioneering spirit that shaped one of Colorado’s oldest cities. 


Held along historic Gregory Street, the annual celebration features live entertainment, food and drinks, family-friendly activities, and local artisans.

9/11 MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB

The City of Black Hawk 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a way for first responders and the general public to remember September 11, 2001, honor the memory of those who were lost, and support a worthwhile cause.  Unlike other climbs, participants will not only begin the challenge at 8,042 feet above sea level, but will also gain 192 feet of elevation, making the Black Hawk 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb the highest stair climb in the world.

 Each October, historic Gregory Street transforms into Halloween Street, bringing festive fall fun and a little Halloween magic to Black Hawk.


Throughout the month, visitors can enjoy epic Halloween displays, festive décor, photo opportunities, and seasonal activities, culminating in a family-friendly Fall Festival & Halloween celebration.

 Step into Black Hawk’s Winter Wonderland, a festive walk-through experience filled with twinkling lights, larger-than-life holiday displays and plenty of photo-worthy moments. Wander through enchanted forests, Candyland, the North Pole, Santa’s Workshop and more. Join us throughout the season for visits from Santa & Mrs. Claus, Santa’s reindeer, holiday carolers and other festive activities for the whole family.
